Dear Tessa Camp, based on your experience with CYA, what are some of the benefits of spending a semester or summer abroad? How has studying abroad contributed to your personal, academic, and professional development?
CYA allowed me to make many amazing friends. It also allowed me to take a step outside my comfort zone by living in Greece. By living without my family only an hour away I gained a great sense of responsibility. I was able to explore and immerse myself in the Greek culture for the two months I was there and it really opened my eyes to see how people in another country live. Academically I finally learned how to prioritize my time.
I set aside time to get my CYA work done so I would have free time to explore Athens! While abroad I was also made aware of career choices and paths available in Greece.
What advice do you have for prospective students who are interested in or planning to study abroad with CYA?
It is okay to be a little nervous about living in another country for a few months, but upon arriving CYA is always there to support you. You also don’t need to pack everything, it was hard deciding what I thought I needed but you will always be able to find everything you need!
Please select any of the following that apply to you, and that you would be willing to share about your CYA experience with other students:
