Ancient Greek Sculpture

Ancient Greek Sculpture is a course designed to give the student first-hand knowledge of sculpture of the Archaic, Classical, and Hellenistic periods. More than half of the class sessions take place in the National Archaeological, Acropolis, Kerameikos, Agora, and Piraeus museums. Students are also able to take advantage of field trips to Delphi, Olympia, and elsewhere.

This course has proven especially helpful to art history majors. One former student in thanking professor for the help she was given on a project which became part of her senior thesis noted that it had earned an “honors”.  She went on to say that this class had inspired a passion for Greek antiquity which had spilled over into all aspects of her life.
