Travel writing and running on Poros island

Summer session I is in full swing at CYA and the students of our “Becoming a Traveler: Writing in Greece” course are on the island of Poros. Professor Christine Harisson encourages the class to explore every aspect of life on the island, delving into the local culture and happenings.

This is after all how good travel stories are written.

So, when students found out there was a multisport event taking place on Poros (Porosea 2018), a lot of them decided to seize this extraordinary opportunity to experience the island from a different point of view: discovering its amazing racing routes along with other local and international runners.

To top it all off, our very own Ashley Luchini won first prize on the 5K run (women 18-29 category) and John Campbell won the third prize on the 10K run (men 18-29 category)!

Congratulations to both of them and all of the travel writers who participated in the races.
