Introducing our new MediaLab Interns: Anna, Barbara, and Caroline!

It is a pleasure to welcome 3 new MediaLab interns for Spring ’19: Caroline Farrell, Barbara Kasomenakis and Anna Vargas! They will be sharing their thoughts and experiences of studying abroad in weekly blog posts, starting this week. But first, the trio would like to introduce themselves:

I am a junior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill double majoring in Media and Journalism and Studio Art, with a minor in Russian language.  This semester in Athens, I am taking courses about photography and archaeology, the European Union and social media—in addition to learning modern Greek! At UNC-Chapel Hill, I am the Associate Editor-in-Chief of Coulture, a student-run fashion and lifestyle magazine.

Hi! Yasou! My name is Barbara Kasomenakis and I am from Queens, NY.
I attend Skidmore College and study English literature and art history.
Although I am fully Greek, I have never visited Athens before… Ωχ!
So far I’m thankful for aimless strolls around the city, cheap frappes, and the warmth of Greek people.
Let’s explore this country together!

I am a junior at Wellesley College and a Media Arts and Sciences major. At CYA, I am studying art history, anthropology, archaeology, and learning modern Greek as well.

In Greece, I am looking to scour the different local stores and markets to expand my fun earring collection.
